During the departure of the second duel in front of the Land Rover BAR, and favored by wind gusts of more than 20 knots, Peter Burling accelerated with so much force that it made fly the boat ’kiwi’ until falling with the skates front puncturing the water. Four of the six crew members of the New Zealand vessel remained hung inside the hull until they were rescued by a boat from the ground crew. None of them suffered serious damage. Those of Peter Burling, who had already broken a mast before the start of the day, will have very intense hours ahead to try to recover the boat that suffered major damage in both the rigid wing and different points of the AC50 rig.
