It has been 23 years since one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in U.S. history. On September 11, 2001, nineteen Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger planes. Two of them attacked the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The third flew into the Pentagon, and the fourth crashed near Pittsburgh. As a result of the tragedy, about three thousand people died. After these events, America declared a “War on Terror.“ Troops were sent to Afghanistan. They were tasked with tracking down and destroying Osama Bin Laden, who was protected by the Afghan Taliban. Have the Americans achieved their goals in the end? And what did they leave behind?
