Recently got an opportunity to ride with a bud and his new 2012 Can Am Outlander 1000 XT. The Outlander is a massive 4WD quad with a 976cc, 82-hp Rotax V-Twin engine, double A-arm front and independent rear suspension, CVT transmission and a new Surrounding Spar Technology with Geometric Contact Control (SST G2) chassis. The XT package comes with extra features including Tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) which allows the rider to switch between three levels of steering assist, Visco-Lok QE auto-locking front differential which engages quicker than the standard Visco-Lok, a 3000-pound Warn winch, cast aluminum wheels wrapped in 26-inch Carlisle ATC tires, hand guards, heavy-duty front and rear bumpers and upgraded 650W mageneto.
