This is a prototype demonstration build of Red Dead Revolver for PlayStation 2, made by Angel Studios, Inc. before Take 2 Interactive had acquired them and their assets from Capcom. This build of the game is most likely the same (or similar) one from the trailer first shown at E3 2002. Most notably, this version focuses on the more arcade and cartoony like aspects as opposed to the somewhat more realistic gameplay and aesthetics from the final release. This footage was captured from PCSX2 1.6 using Japan Bios. The game itself has a single player, multiplayer, and options mode selectable. The single player mode lets you choose from various test levels and scenario's that were demonstrated in the E3 trailer as well as a few unseen ones. I play the first few levels that are playable and aren't just a environment to run around in. The load time for each level are VERY long (2-4 minutes) so i cut them down for convenience in post. The gameplay and mechanics are clearly unfinished and were done enough to demonstrate how the games direction was intended. Also worth mentioning is you play as young Red Harlow for some reason. Most of the time, the analog control for the left stick would randomly function improperly so i used the D pad for movement. You can run, hide behind, and peak out of cover and sorta feels like a 3D Wild Guns in a way. I noticed the game had a lot off place holder voices, one of the guys was clearly a woman's voice filling in, which i thought was funny. I tried some of the multiplayer and its basically the same as the single player, but up to 4 people can battle against each other, or on teams, and find weapons and items The image file of the game (as well as a few others like superman 64 ps1) was released online December 1st 2020 by DigitalExplorations on their tumblr page You can download the iso image for the prototype, as well as the other released ones, from this link
