U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday announced what he called a “historical peace agreement” between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, saying it’s a “significant step” in building a “more peaceful, secure and prosperous Middle East.” The agreement will see a full normalization of relations between the two countries, as agreed to by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the crown prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed. Trump added the U.S. doesn’t have to be there anymore, saying they just need “friendship.” He also briefly spoke about ongoing tensions with Iran and said that if he is re-elected, he would have a deal with Iran within 30 days.
