Acording to Legend the Martial Arts of Meishan started with Chiyou the mythical enemy of Huangdi at the beginning of Chinese Civilisation. Accounts vary about Chi is normal going this far back in time. Sometimes described/seen as a Strong Tribe Leader in other accounts described as the King of an Ancient Nine Li Kingdom. He got his place in history as the strongest contender of Huangdi the Legendary Founder of the Chinese Civilisation. He was considered a very strong millitary leader who almost conqoured all of china if the Yellow Emperor wouldnt have defeated him. Its said that the final battle lasted for ten years and both Chi You and Huangdi used many supernatural powers during that battle. After Chi You was defeated and killed his people were forced to live in the mountains of Meishan. Meishan Mountain is nowadays known as Xuefeng Mountain and located in Central Hunan Province. Here you see a small glimpse of its Martial Arts which are considered as Southern Kung Fu Styles.
