Six people were wounded, including four young children, following a mass stabbing attack at a playground in Annecy, #France. Two of the children face life threatening injuries and are said to be in critical condition. The suspect, identified by authorities as a Syrian national, could be heard saying “in the name of Jesus Christ” during the attack. He was eventually shot and arrested by responding authorities after being chased away from the playground by onlookers. Prosecutors say that the suspect, who had received asylum in Sweden in 2013, had no criminal or psychiatric record, or any known extremist connections. So far authorities have ruled out terrorism, but have yet to establish an exact motive.
