Raga Bhairav - One Khayal : Many Voices

Sunaada Art Foundation presents “Raga Bhairav - One Khayal : Many Voices“, a group rendition of Khayal in Raga Bhairav. The primordial Raga Bhairav is fundamental to Hindustani Classical Music in a myriad ways : as a scale, melody, Raga and Raga-anga. Peculiarly for students of music, Bhairav is apparently easy for the beginner, but gets significantly complex as the learning advances. It is common knowledge that many great musicians begin/began their day with Raga Bhairav throughout their lifetime. With an intention of presenting Khayal in Raga Bhairav in a concise format, the duo of Omkarnath Havaldar and Shreedhar Mechri have brought together a group of talented musicians and multimedia professionals in creating this audio-visual showcase. While the vilambit Jhaptaal bandish is a traditional composition, the drut Ektaal tarana is composed by Pandit Yashwant Mahale.
