The good old whip sword (*not* the Urumi, which I covered in different video)... an icon of flashy fantasy shenanigans, an extravagant edgelord's dream. A functional form of it can in fact be made in the real world, as impressively demonstrated by @NjordArtisan just recently. Check out his video that I'm responding to here: Awesome, eh? So you can. Does that mean you should? Well... There are still a number of problems that make this design a little... tricky, compared to conventional swords and other practical weapons. Maybe there are good reasons why even Soul Calibur's lore admits that Ivy Valentine's “snake sword“ couldn't work mechanically but needed magic? Time for some fun over-thinking.
