This fascinating black & white home movie features a 4th of July parade in Globe, Arizona, as well as some desert (!) golfing. The images of Globe are especially interesting as they show a diverse vision of the West -- if you look you'll see Native Americans and African Americans in the footage. This is circa the late 1920s or early 1930s. Globe is a city in Gila County, Arizona that was founded c. 1875 as a mining camp. The Old Dominion mine was the principal copper producer in the Globe District. Opening: Model T Fords drive past and people mill around Broad Street in the small Arizona town of Globe, the streets are packed with people (:16). The Western Union office and Holy Angels Church is visible in the b/g at (:19). Men in cowboy hats and women in dresses walk past a sign that reads Tucson/Safford (:25). A child dressed in an Indian outfit with a feather in his cap (:28). An actual Native American girl, most likely from the Apache tribe, with a papoose also shown (:35) People are gathered on a street
