Печатников переулок. Печа́тников переу́лок (до 1907 — Пильников переулок) — переулок в центре Москвы в Мещанском районе между Трубной улицей и Сретенкой. Название 1907 года (первоначальная форма — Печатниковский переулок) сохраняет название Печатной слободы XVII века, где жили мастера Печатного двора. С начала 1820-х годов до 1907 года — Пильников переулок, по фамилии одного из местных домовладельцев. Печатников переулок — первый от Рождественского бульвара из переулков, соединяющих Трубную улицу и Сретенку. Назван по печатникам, жившим недалеко от своей приходской церкви Успения, «что в Печатниках», здание которой сохранилось (Сретенка, 3). Современный облик переулка, как, и соседних, складывался, в основном, начиная с середины XIX века. Тогда вместо деревянных домов здесь появились небольшие каменные, которые, в свою очередь, уступили место высоким доходным зданиям начала XX века. Немало строилось в этих местах и в советское время, особенно в 1920-е и в начале 1930-х годов. В Печатниковом переулке находится украшенный фасад небольшого двухэтажного дома (№ 7). Пётр Сысоев, разбогатевший крестьянин Московской губернии, приобрёл этот домик, и в 1896 году решил его украсить, не скупясь на расходы. В довершение отделки Сысоев заказал вылепить свои инициалы «ПС» в окружении кариатид под карнизом дома. Выделяются также четырёхэтажное, отделанное керамикой здание (№ 18, 1910 г., архитектор О. О. Шишковский) и рядом с ним самый высокий дом в переулке (№ 22) с гигантским, в несколько этажей, ордером (1912, архитектор П. П. Крюков), в котором жила актриса и режиссёр М. О. Кнебель. На углу Печатникова переулка и Сретенки (дом № 21/9) в меблированных комнатах, находившихся в дворовом флигеле, в 1890-х годах проживал художник А. Я. Головин. Печатников переулок начинается от Трубной улицы и проходит на восток параллельно Колокольникову переулку слева и Рождественскому бульвару справа. Выходит на Сретенку напротив Рыбникова переулка. Это самый первый из семи переулков, соединяющих Трубную и Сретенку. Pechatnikov Lane. Pechatnikov Lane (until 1907 — Pilnikov Lane) is a lane in the center of Moscow in the Meshchansky District between Trubnaya Street and Sretenka. The 1907 name (the original form — Pechatnikovsky Lane) preserves the name of the Pechatnaya Sloboda of the 17th century, where the masters of the Printing Yard lived. From the early 1820s until 1907 — Pilnikov Lane, by the name of one of the local homeowners. Pechatnikov Lane is the first lane from Rozhdestvensky Boulevard connecting Trubnaya Street and Sretenka. It was named after the printers who lived near their parish church of the Assumption, “which is in Pechatniki“, the building of which has survived (Sretenka, 3). The modern appearance of the lane, like the neighboring ones, was formed mainly starting from the middle of the 19th century. Then, instead of wooden houses, small stone ones appeared here, which, in turn, gave way to tall tenement buildings of the early 20th century. Quite a lot was built in these places during the Soviet era, too, especially in the 1920s and early 1930s. In Pechatnikov Lane there is a decorated façade of a small two-story house (No. 7). Pyotr Sysoev, a wealthy peasant from the Moscow province, acquired this house and in 1896 decided to decorate it, not skimping on expenses. To complete the decoration, Sysoev ordered his initials “PS“ to be sculpted surrounded by caryatids under the cornice of the house. Also notable is the four-story building decorated with ceramics (No. 18, 1910, architect O. O. Shishkovsky) and next to it the tallest house in the lane (No. 22) with a gigantic, several-story order (1912, architect P. P. Kryukov), where the actress and director M. O. Knebel lived. At the corner of Pechatnikov Lane and Sretenka (house No. 21/9), in furnished rooms located in the courtyard wing, the artist A. Ya. Golovin lived in the 1890s. Pechatnikov Lane starts from Trubnaya Street and runs east parallel to Kolokolnikov Lane on the left and Rozhdestvensky Boulevard on the right. It comes out onto Sretenka opposite Rybnikov Lane. This is the very first of the seven lanes connecting Trubnaya and Sretenka.
