Diggers 2 (Or Extractors - The Hanging worlds of Zarg) is a puzzle based game like lemmings. It was made by Millenium Interactive and was released around 1995. The biggest difference between Diggers 1 and 2 is probably that you aren't in competition with a PC controlled mining team. That means you have more time to do your mission but there are still monsters around and sometimes space pirates (forgot how they are called ingame) are teleporting in and want to kill your miners. Also you can now select a team of different miners from other species. There are only 3 to select from and it is good to have a mix of all three because they all have their plus and minus. The missions are not entirely based on finding enough jewels anymore. You also have to find fuel to fill up your ship again and you have to find a shield generator and blow that thing up. The generator is sometimes hard to reach so you have to figure out how to get there. Of course you can buy special “tools'“ like a digging machine, or a hover lift to get to hard to reach places/secrets. Every fifth mission is time based, the level threatens to “blow up“ and you have to find and destroy the generator as fast as possible. Also like the title of the game says (hanging worlds of zarg) you are now mining on floating lands, that means you can fall down if you go over the edge of the land or dig down to deep so watch out. I heard that the difficulty was increased in Diggers 2 but I thought that 1 was harder because of the stupid controls. However I haven't played very far yet to judge that.
