It must have been Christmas of 1967 when I first saw the strange and slightly frightening cover of Kimio Eto’s Koto Music recording. It was a present from my Mom to Dad. He had spent some time in Japan during the Korean War, and had embraced the Japanese culture. I was too young to understand the stylized artwork, but over time came to greatly appreciate it, as well as the wonderful music on that record. I’ve come to realize what a masterpiece this is.
