In today's episode of Vox Friendly Pedals, we are looking at the Wampler Velvet Fuzz with a Vox AC15c1. I can't think of a better fuzz for beginners. Brian Wampler set out to recreate the sound of a fuzz going into an overdriven EL34 amp. So, instead of going for the sound of a specific pedal, he recreated the tone of that type of signal chain. It's been around for a while now, and has made quite the name for itself. The Velvet fuzz can do heavy Velcro, almost gated type of fuzz tones when in the “Big“ mode, and can clean up fairly well and do more distortion type tones in the “Thin“ mode. I'll be showcasing what the pedal is capable of, and will also stack in with a Wampler Belle. I'll be using my 2017 Vox AC15c1, loaded with a Celestion Greenback, the microphone used is a Shure SM57. The Guitars will be the usual ones, the Gibson Les Paul Junior, Squier Classic Vibe Strat and Epiphone Les Paul. DISCLAIMER: This video and description contains affil
