Before he was 'equalizer' Robert McCall, a role that won him a Best Actor Emmy, Edward Woodward was 'Callan' (1967), a determined, deadly secret agent - a role that won him a British Best Actor award. Callan worked for The Section and dealt with the most serious intelligence threats, the ones 'marked for death'. The methods used were ruthless, ranging from torture to termination. The show ran for 44 episodes over four 'series' (as they are called in the UK) followed by a theatrical film and a revival tv movie. As with 'Van der Valk' the theme is by Jack Trombey (aka Jan Sooeckart), chosen from the DeWolfe music library.
