3D Gaussian splats, like NeRFs or photogrammetry methods, are a way to create a photorealistic 3D scene using a set of 2D images. Its results are absolutely mind blowing. The paper describing this method was recently published at SIGGRAPH last month. After watching a few videos, we knew we had to experiment it ourselves. We experimented based on three different scenes: a daytime setting, a nighttime setting, and an aerial drone shot. 3D Gaussian Splatting for Real-Time Radiance Field Rendering Paper: Shoutout to @thenerfguru for his in-depth tutorial: Shoutout to @OlliHuttunen78 for sharing his scanning experiments: Join our discord server: If you wanna see us to do cool things follow us here too: Instagram: Twitter: https://twitter.
