On the 14th of February, lovers celebrate Valentine’s day. People in love make or buy beautiful Valentine’s cards. Usually, on the outside of the cards, there are butterflies, flowers, hearts and Cupids. On the inside, there is a love poem. In Great Britain, people traditionnally write love poems. Weeks before Valentine’s day, magazines and newspapers publish love verses to give inspiration. In Great Britain, the cards are usually anonymous, even between husband and wife: people don’t sign their name. They often sign the cards with a question: Would you be my Valentine? Lovers give each other presents such as flowers, especially red roses, chocolates, teddy bears or perfume. In the evening, some couples go to the restaurant for a romantic dinner. Lovers call each other by tender names : honey, sweetheart, my love, sweetie, cutie pie, baby, my little bunny…
