As INDYCAR celebrates Women's History Month in March, it is our great pleasure to revisit some of the great moments of the sport. This week's Classic Rewind takes to Walt Disney World Speedway and the 1996 Indy 200, the first race of the newly-minted Indy Racing League. In a race full of firsts, there were several “bests“ sprinkled in. In a partnership between Dick Simon Racing and Team Scandia, Lyn St. James started in the inaugural race for the IRL, ripping off a qualification lap of MPH, starting her in Row 6. In front of a crowd estimated over 50,000 fans, she scored the best finish of her career. For this week's Classic Rewind, we go back to that historic race weekend.
