Look through some of my fabric meditation books that I have made using slow stitching, found nature like stones, birch bark and sea glass, natural fibers like Tibetan yak down yarn and indigo dyed nettle yarn and old textiles from Japan (boro and kaya mosquito netting) and old kantha blanket remnants from India. I also love using Japanese sashiko threads, hand spun cotton and linen threads and thin sewing threads. I make each book slowly and intuitively using a variety of art materials that I find. This practice is both a meditation and mindfulness practice, inviting me to turn inward as my hands slowly hold and stitch the soft, weathered fabrics.
