I don't remember how it's depicted in the REmake, but in the OG, Ada literally pulls out a calculator and hits the big red button that starts the self destruction sequence. We don't even see how she gets the calculator in Separate Ways. it's just something that appears in the ending. Also, Ashley is literally one of the easiest escort missions in gaming history. I was actually pretty surprised when I heard that people would complain about babysitting her, and I'm like “She stays glued to your ass at all times.“ Unless you leave her in a corner and forget about her, protecting her is easy money.
