Forecasters have warned that up to 30 cm of snow will fall in Scotland next week due to fears of heavy snowstorms. The Met Office today issued a yellow weather warning for the north of the country, with a sharp drop in temperatures expected. Experts expect between 8 and 15 cm of snow to settle in the lowlands, and up to 25 cm at higher levels. Combined with strong northerly winds and snowstorms, this could cause havoc on trips. The Met Office said: “The rain will fall as snow to low levels. “At lower levels, clusters up to 30cm and over 200m are possible, with some diarrhea and snowstorms in strong northerly winds.“ Scotland is likely to experience its first snowfall of the season over the next few days thanks to a winter storm dubbed the “Trondheim Troll“. Forecasters say this is due to a period of low pressure emanating from Norway that will hit the UK, causing temperatures to plummet and snow to fall.
