Umm Al Emarat Park was first opened to visitors in 1982, and is one of the oldest and largest urban parks in Abu Dhabi. The Park was originally known as Mushrif Park and admission was exclusive to ladies and children. In January 2013, Umm Al Emarat Park was closed for redevelopment over a period of 24 months. During this time, Al Ain Properties LLC worked closely with an experienced international team of landscape designers, architects and contractors to design and execute a new park with state-of-the-art facilities that are both community-focused recreational and educational experiences. The Park reopened in March 2015, and a year later was renamed Umm Al Emarat Park in honor of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The overall design of the new park honors the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his vision of preserving the United Arab Emirates’ cultural and natural history, and preserving the gifts of nature for the future generations. The Park invests in spreading greenery and conserving the environment, harboring extensive flora and fauna with broadleaf, palm trees and indigenous and naturalized species, and salvaging over 200 existing mature trees over 20 years old. In 2016 and 2017, Umm Al Emarat Park garnered the Green Flag Award, an international benchmark for green spaces and parks. #nature #ecology #eco #gopro #video #youtube #gopro11 #gopro12 #gopro9 #sonyvegas #desert #water #fish #blog #bags #ants #maggots #eat #food #park #uae #abudhabi #dubai #4K #UltraHD #60fps #4KUltraHD60fps #4KUltraHD
