What is Women’s Day all about you ask? Why does it need a special day to celebrate the existence of half of the population? Well, ask the woman, who makes her way to work every day despite her period pains; ask an actress, equally famous as her male counterpart still gets paid less simply because she is a woman; ask a woman who couldn’t pick up a night shift simply because the streets were not safe enough for her. While most men still sit and watch TV post-work because they are “too tired,“ a woman is expected to clean, put the baby to sleep, and make sure the laundry is folded and kept in its place once she comes back from work. Being a woman is not easy. It is an everyday struggle.
