On February 2, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred in the US state of Oklahoma. The tremors occurred at 23:24 pm local time. The epicenter was located at a depth of 3 km, 8 km from the town of Prague, 67 km from Oklahoma City. The earthquake was also felt in Kansas. There were no reports of damage or casualties. In recent years, Oklahoma has become the new “earthquake capital“ of the country. In Oklahoma, there was almost no seismic activity until 2009. Seismological scientists do not rule out that earthquakes may be associated with the activities of gas production enterprises.
