Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the South Shields Old Town Hall and Market Place, a new film has been written by former Shields Gazette feature writer Janis Blower. ’It has rung to the strident tones of politics and religion. Marked the coronations and deaths of monarchs; been a centre of commerce and conviviality. A public forum one day, a fairground the next’. Using archive material and photographs the film aim’s to tell the story from it’s beginnings to the present day.
