Jodie Foster is an American actress, producer, and director. She was born on November 19, 1962, in Los Angeles, California. Foster began her career as a child actress, appearing in commercials and television shows such as “The Courtship of Eddie's Father“ and “My Three Sons“ in the 1960s. Foster made her film debut at the age of 13 in the 1972 film “Napoleon and Samantha.“ Her breakthrough role came in 1976 with the Martin Scorsese-directed film “Taxi Driver,“ in which she played a teenage prostitute named Iris. Her performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 1980, Foster starred in the film “The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane,“ which she also produced.
