PREVIOUS VIDEO : CUTE AND FUNNY FISH This is a follow up video on my Maison Reef Zebra Cichlid. This is the brother of my former male Maison that you seen in my other videos. This guy is larger and more beastly but possibly less aggressive. Maison Reef Zebra are African Cichlids from Lake Malawi and are classified as Mbuna (Rock Dwellers). Mbuna are known to be quite aggressive for their sizes and will defend small territories violently attacking fish that come to close. Other then their pugnacious temperaments, they are beautiful fish who come in all colors and sizes. The Maison Reef is considered a Giant in this family and can reach 8 to 9 inches in length (Male in the video is around 7 inches). Common Name : Maison Reef Zebra Scientific Name : Metriaclima sp. “Zebra Chilumba“ (Maison Reef) Family: Cichlidae, Mbuna class Origin : Lake Malawi Africa Size : 8 - 9 inches / 20 - 23 cm PH : 7.2 - 8.5 Temperature : 74-80 F Temperament : Aggressive and bossy. Full grown adult males need at least a 4 foot aquarium if you want to keep them as a single dominant species. If you plan on keeping other dominant cichlids, provide them with a 6 foot tank as a minimum. Males do well with at least 3-4 females to help disperse their aggression.
