Extra Content : World of Cichlids We all know that mixing big bad aggressive fish for breeding purposes can be a daunting task. In many cases the male and female do not see eye to eye and fighting can be a real problem. Without sufficient hiding spots and tank space, breeding big fish can prove disastrous and is not something every hobbyist looks forward to trying. Large American Cichlids pair up, raise and protect their young. These fish can be incredible parents and their intelligence is very obvious. There are numerous species to choose from that all range in size and levels of aggression. The most popular choice for starters is the convict cichlid. Their smaller size makes them less demanding and their readiness to breed makes them a perfect choice for beginners. Breeding the larger species takes more attention and experience and hopefully some of the tips and tricks in this video will help answer some of those common questions. The fish in this video are Red Terror Cichlids also commonly referred to as Festae.
