“I’m fighting so that at the end of the war, we could all be alive, in good health, and return back home.” This is Shturman, a battalion commander serving in the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic. He is fighting for his homeland, so that at the end of the war his people would be able to come back home. Shturman started out as a private in the “Akhmat” battalion. After a few months he was entrusted with the lives of 400 soldiers placed under his command. Every soldier respects him for his courage. Shturman is not a paper-pusher, but an officer who earned his rank through blood and sweat. He’s known as the man who got wounded in combat, but refused go to the hospital but rather stayed with his brigade. Stitched himself up. He is always leading the way, leading his men to victory.
