- Santa Maria degli Angeli (Rome) sun passage across a meridian line at solar noon - 24 April 2015 obliquity data - the spot of sunlight (actually an image of the sun) is created by a small hole high in the southern wall of the basilica; when the spot is centered on the brass meridian line (which runs north-south), the sun is due south and it is solar noon (*not* 12:00 on a clock) - one of 23 such movies taken by a University of Washington (Seattle, USA) class throughout the spring of 2015 for the purpose of measuring the obliquity of the ecliptic (the tilt of the Earth's axis) and how it has slightly changed since the meridian line was built by Francesco Bianchini in 1702
