Simulating the 88mm APCBC shell of the Tiger 1 against a T-34 at 0-2500m. The critical velocity needed to perforate the armour is determined, which can be used to calculate the maximum range. (The range depends on the ballistic coefficient used for the pzgr39) The T-34 featured heavily sloped armour but this is overcome through the use of an armour-piercing cap ontop of the regular shell. ***It was observed that the hardness of the cap had a large effect on angled AND perpendicular penetration so may be revisited in the future***. For this simulation, the cap is of medium hardness (harder than the target but softer than the AP shell). The fuze and explosive is not modelled for simplicity.
