In this fascinating movieclip from the 30s a group of Civil War veterans gathered to take turns stepping up to a microphone to do their versions of the “Rebel Yell“. While some of them were getting rather long in the years they could still do a imposing version of the battle cry. The wisecracking between the veterans on the different attempts is also a hoot
