Hawaii is facing the “largest natural disaster“ in its history, after wildfires ripped through the island of Maui and destroyed most of the beach-front town of Lahaina. The island has been ravaged with entire communities and neighbourhoods destroyed, as hurricane-strength winds fanned the deadly flames. The blaze ripped through Lahaina so quickly that some people jumped into the harbour to escape the flames and smoke.
