Restoration of a rusted vintage pipe vise. Se me restore and repair this vise that has been rusty and unused for a long time! ABOUT THE VISE This is an Armstrong Bridgeport 2” vise that was made in the USA. This has been in the bottom of my fathers tool box for quite some time and It made for an AWESOME RESTORATION! THE RESTORATION PROCESS This vise was in rusted and dirty condition to start with. I started out by completely dismantling the rusted vise. There were approx. 17-18 pieces. I used paint remover and washed most of the small parts and with the larger cast components I used a sandblaster. After the dismantling, sandblasting, and washing it was time to start restoring. I powder coated the main cast pieces after using a cleaning solution to remove any left over oil or finger prints. As mentioned in the video, I pre-baked the larger parts before coating to insure a better adhesion to the rough casting and then powder coated multiple times. The results were incred
