Joan Orleans hails from Louisiana but arrived in Munich in the mid-70s where she was first signed to Philips for one single Go Go in 1977, before switching to Ralph Siegel's Jupiter-label where her debut was a cover version of Dolly Parton's Light Of A Clear Blue Morning. Three more singles followed, Big Apple (produced by Horst Hornung, 1979), a cover of The Supremes' signature tune Stop In The Name Of Love (produced by Mike Thatcher, 1980) and Still Crazy About You (produced by Horst Hornung, 1982), the latter being the theme tune of the movie Deadly Game. Light Of A Clear Blue Morning was re-released by Jupiter in 1981. Joan released a single on Koch International in 1985 before signing to Blow Up in 1987 where her first album was finally released, but to little success. A second album followed in 1989, heralded by the brilliant single I Don't Wanna Be Lonely which sadly did not give her a hit single either.
