Titles read: “Outer London's Clubs and Cabarets - “The Showboat' - Maidenhead. [superimposed over shot of exterior of the club.] Bathing - for the pool and the sun - and a merry throng to cast dull care away.“ Maidenhead, Berkshire. Various shots of people diving into the swimming pool at The Showboat Club in Maidenhead. Others sit around the pool and relax, have drinks, smoke cigarettes, chat with friends, a woman combs her hair. The club looks like a classic art deco building of the era. Inside the club we see couples dancing to the music of Maurice Raymond and his band; the clothes are smart but not as elegant or swanky as those of visitors to the London clubs. A small troupe of dancing girls wearing swimsuits do a routine for the seated diners; a blonde in the front does a tap dance as the band plays 'Two Tickets to Harlem'. Percy Wills makes a caricature of a Scotsman out of the word 'Jock' on a large sketchpad. Champion ballroom dancers Betty and Peter Dighton dance the Pasa Doble. FILM
