After a three year break (thanks to a global pandemic and warm temperatures), the International Ice Race at Zell am Zee is back. But what on earth is it? And why haven't you heard about it before? Organised by 30-year old Ferdi Porsche (yes, that Porsche), the Austrian ice racing event can trace its roots way back to the 50s - with the Porsche family having a strong presence in the area way back then. But enthusiasm waned, until Ferdi brought the event back in 2019, with an eclectic showcase of everything from Porsche factory Dakar cars to 1950s speedsters and everything in-between. And it's not just Porsches here, there's everything from dune buggies to hot hatch rally specials and priceless vintage Ferraris. So what's it all about? Let Top Gear's Ollie Marriage be your guide.
