U.S. accuses Zimbabwe govt of corruption, human rights violations

Zimbabwe has lashed out at the U.S. over recent sanctions imposed against the southern African country’s president and other senior officials, saying the restrictions are completely unjustified. Washington has accused the Zimbabwean government of backsliding on democratic processes, as well as human rights abuses and corruption. It froze assets and entities pertaining to the country’s officials in the U.S.
