Dramatic first-person footage recorded on March 13 in Mariupol, Ukraine, captures civilians running for shelter in a residential area of the besieged city as shelling is heard. The footage was recorded by Tymur Rudov, who told Storyful that he was only able to leave the city on March 16, more than two weeks after communications and basic services were cut in the city. The videos he recorded three days before fleeing offer a glimpse into the dangers faced by civilians in intense fighting that has dragged on for more than a month. The footage, recorded in a span of less than 40 minutes, picks up along Prospekt Budivelnykiv on the west side of Mariupol. There are signs of damage to nearby buildings, and smoke is visible nearby. Few people are on the street, but a handful of civilians can be seen carrying goods amid the sound of explosions.
