On Feb. 12, 2023 at approximately 0800 z, several aircraft near Sherbrooke, Quebec “reported seeing two or three very strange lights in the sky, high above the flight paths... moving in a rapid and irregular way.“ Their reports appeared in Transport Canada's online aviation incident database on Feb. 21. Lights visible for about 30 minutes; they were moving in a rapid and irregular way at an altitude described as being between 50,000 and 60,000 ft. The aircraft were: a CargoLux Italia Boeing 747-800 (LXVCG/ICV93PK) from Chicago/O’Hare, IL (KORD) to Luxembourg, Luxembourg (ELLX); an Air France Airbus 330-200 (OOSEA/AFR6737) from Chicago/O’Hare, IL (KORD) to Paris/Charles-de-Gaulle, France (LFPG); and an Atlas Air Inc. Boeing 747-400 (N415MC/GTI8237) from Chicago/O’Hare, IL (KORD) to Frankfurt, Germany (EDDF).
