In July 1974, just a few days after Alan Ross was hired by the legendary Ansel Adams to be his photographic assistant in Carmel (where he worked from 1974 to 1979), Alan made one of his most famous and best-selling images, “Bridaveil Fall in Storm.“ It's a powerful print, one that is nearing the 150 edition limit. This interview was filmed at Sun to Moon Gallery in Dallas, Texas in January, 2013, before the opening of “Alan Ross: Forty Years in the West,“ an exhibition at the gallery featuring more than two dozen of Alan's exquisite black & white fine prints. In the interview, Alan tells the story about taking the photograph, making the first print, showing the print to Ansel Adams for the first time and Ansel's reaction when he saw the print.
