Police are dispersing protestors who have flooded the streets of Tel Aviv demanding an immediate deal to free Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip, local media reported. Israeli law enforcement is using stun grenades and water cannons to disperse demonstrators, with videos of these incidents going viral on social media. Police in the country have recently taken to spraying Israeli protesters with “skunk“ water, a crowd control weapon mixed with noxious and foul-smelling chemicals which has traditionally been used to suppress Palestinian demonstrators, the New York Times highlighted. According to the organizers, around 300,000 people gathered in the streets of Tel Aviv, with approximately half a million Israelis participating in rallies across the country simultaneously. Later, the media, citing the organizers, reported that the total number of protesters nationwide reached 700,000, including 550,000 in Tel Aviv.
