Learn exactly how to tie a figure 8 on a bight the proper way. CMC Rescue walks you step by step through the process of tying a figure 8 knot on a bight. The video also provides slow motion visuals to help you learn it faster! We use the figure 8 family of knots for making loops to anchor the end of the rope and for connecting rescue rope together. The figure 8 on a bight creates a loop for connecting a carabiner to the rope. Knot efficiency = 77% as a loop; =56% with rope pulled end to end. Learn more
