Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. Special Thanks to Մոխրագույն & Simon Armenian is an Indo-European language, the sole member of its branch, and the native language of the Armenian people. It is the official language of Armenia and historically spoken in the Armenian highlands. Today, Armenian is also prevalent throughout the Armenian diaspora. The language is written in the Armenian alphabet, introduced in 405 AD by Saint Mesrop Mashtots. There are between five and seven million Armenian speakers worldwide. Classical Armenian, the oldest form of the language, was first documented in the 5th century and used in literature until the 18th century. It remains the liturgical language of the Armenian Apostolic and Catholic Churches and is significant for Biblical and linguistic studies. Eastern Armenian is spoken in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, and Iran, and is generally understood by Western Armenian speakers. It is the de facto language of Armenia, used in commercial translations and daily communication. Western Armenian is spoken in Turkey, the Armenian Highlands, Armenia, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Syria, primarily based on the Istanbul dialect, while Eastern Armenian is based on the Yerevan dialect. This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
