Russian Federation, 2006 Donate & Support: Viktor Leonidov's nostalgic song is telling about a page in the history of the World War I that was forgotten by many - the Russian Expeditionary corps, which was sent to help France and other Entente allies on the Western front. A similar corps of The Russian Imperial army fought at Salonika. The author of the song complains that descendants do not remember the heroic valor of Russian soldiers, and that this feat is almost unknown not only in Russia, but also in France. An additional part of the song tells that many soldiers after the revolution in Russia could not find themselves, and, remaining in France, went to serve in the Foreign Legion.
