The US Navy's newest and most technologically advanced stealth destroyer, future USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000), departed Maine shipyard Bath Iron Works September 7, 2016, marking the beginning of a three-month journey to its new homeport in San Diego. After commissioning in Baltimore, Maryland, on Oct. 15, the ship will sail to its homeport in San Diego.
