The Princess of Wales is to make her return to public life for Trooping the Colour today, joining the Royal family for their annual outing to celebrate the King’s official birthday. The Princess, who has not joined a royal outing since Christmas Day, will travel by carriage with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. She issued a personal message last night saying she was making “good progress” with her chemotherapy, but was “not out of the woods yet”. The King, who is also receiving treatment for cancer, will travel by carriage with the Queen in a modified programme to take his own health into account. Last year, he rode in the procession. The family will watch the ceremony from the Major General’s Office overlooking Horse Guards Parade, while the Prince of Wales, Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Royal ride. Trooping the Colour will culminate, as is traditional, with the Buckingham Palace fly past which will see working members of the Royal family on the balcony.
