The undefeated, number 1 ranked middleweight contender and current NABF Middleweight champion, James Shuler, defends his title against reigning WBC World Super Welterweight Champion, Thomas Hearns. More info below... James “Black Gold“ Shuler has turned pro in 1980 after a successful amateur career of 178-6. He quickly established himself as a boxer to watch as he rose through the ranks and in 1982 he would outpoint veteran Sugar Ray Seales for the NABF Middleweight title. Shuler didn't defend his title regularly but he did make successful defenses in January 1984 against Clint Jackson and February 1985 against undefeated James Kinchen. By the end of 1985 Shuler had an undefeated 22-0 record, 16 by way of KO, and was ranked as the number 1 middleweight contender by 3 of the top boxing governing bodies.
