Drummer Omar Hakim took eight years to complete his third record “We Are One“ due to his busy and hectic schedule backing and recording for the likes of Daft Punk. The electronic duo won two Grammys this year and recruited Omar, legendary producer Nile Rogers, and bassist Nathan East. Omar’s latest CD is released on his Ozmosis Records imprint and features musicians ranging from Gregoire Maret, Bobby Broom, and his wife, keyboardist, Rachel Z. His career spans some 45 years and as backed rock, soul, and jazz greats like Chaka Khan, Sting, Lionel Richie, Victor Wooten, and Madonna.
