HOMEWORK BAN Poland has just banned homework for students in years 1 to 3, and for students in years 4 to 8, homework is now optional. Polish Education Minister, Barbara Nowacka, said the decision was based on research about children’s mental health. The idea is that less homework means more free time to do extra-curricular activities, meet up with friends, and just have fun, because believe it or not, having fun is actually pretty important for a healthy brains.
